Who are you?
I’m Elaine. My friends call me e or Lainey. I’m a bit of a spaz, but a well-organized one. I love to laugh, am married to my best friend, read way too much and get excited about dorky things like gorgeous afternoon light or Harry Potter. I love telling stories with pictures and, occasionally, with words.
My husband, Mike, is also a photographer. You’ll meet him and love him, I’m sure. He’s a big kid that doesn’t take himself too seriously, is ridiculously talented at anything art related and can make conversation with just about anyone.
What’s your style?
If you can bottle up laughter, happiness and awesome, you’d get our style. We like to let events unfold. We are there to document, not direct. We love gorgeous light (try and find a photographer who doesn’t) and want your pictures to be you at your most awesome and real.
What is your favorite part of shooting weddings?
I love the energy and anticipation of the getting ready shots. You can find so many gems during that time. I also love when a ceremony is really personal and intimate. The dance portion is always a blast to shoot, but I’d be lying if I didn’t say my favorite part is shooting the portraits with the bride and groom. I always feel like the luckiest guest because I get to spend the most one-on-one time with the honored pair just after they’re married.
What are your thoughts on First Looks?
Funny you should ask. I wrote about the amazingness of a First Look HERE. First Looks are a great way to
Do you travel for weddings, engagement sessions or assignments?
We are always up for weddings outside of Miami whether it’s North Carolina or Spain. Shoot, we’d travel to an igloo if you’d let us.
Are travel costs included in your package pricing and how do you determine travel expenses?
No, travel expenses are a separate cost, but we work with you to find the best prices and accommodations that work well for all involved. I’ll typically search using sites like Sidestep or Travelocity. It is easiest if I book our travel itinerary, but I’ll work with you through the process. Travel expenses will generally cover lodging, airfare and transportation.
What about if we have ideas? Do you work with us?
Ideas, particularly ones that will showcase your personalities and relationship, help make sessions that much more personal. In fact, it makes our lives a whole lot easier.
What should I wear?
Read my post on what to wear HERE. My best bit of advice when it comes to outfits is to be yourself. You don’t normally wear identical outfits, so why start now? Just like you want your pictures to be unique, let your outfits reflect your individual styles. Want to coordinate colors? Then, find an outfit that reflects each person’s style in the chosen color.
Do you bring back up gear?
You bet we do.
Do you have insurance?
We carry a 2 million dollar liability policy. If your venue requires proof of insurance, please just let us know.
How many images will you deliver?
Since we are all-day photographers, we’ve got you covered from beginning to end. We usually average anywhere from 400-700 images upon delivery.
What kind of albums do you offer?
We offer photo wrap or linen albums from Madera Books, RedTree Albums and Queensbury. They are awesome. Leather albums are available for an upgrade.
Will we get images on disc or USB?
