As a person born and raised in hurricane prone area, I know what it’s like to go without electricity for weeks and to have to wait for hours for gas. Seeing the pictures and stories that are coming out of the Northeast have me sick to my stomach. Being so far away from my adopted second home during such a trying time makes me feel helpless, but there IS something that we can all do. If you can, and let’s face it a lot of us can, donate to Occupy Sandy to help families and businesses start over and rebuild.
The folks at Occupy Sandy are mobilizing thousands of volunteers in the Northeast’s hardest hit areas and working DIRECTLY with families to help them recover and rebuild. What they are doing is amazing. Please donate to help them continue their work or visit their Amazon registry to purchase items that people need ASAP.
