A Love Like This: Sofie + Lissette

I had this idea for a project; something that would define who I am as a photographer and what I want to spend my time capturing. It was a shell of an idea, a whisper of a thought floating around in my mind. I didn’t give voice to what I was thinking until I read this quote by Hafiz, “Even after all this time the sun never says to the earth, ‘You owe me.’ Look what happens with a love like that. It lights the whole sky.” That was it. I wanted to understand the many different definitions to “a love like that.” Love is so subjective and ever changing. It is something that is so ancient and at once so new. I think I can spend my entire life exploring the many facets to love. This is the first of what I hope is a series of sessions, from all walks of life, that documents and explores the different forms of love.

I begin with Sofie + Lissette. These are from my afternoon photographing a love like this…
