Alejandra: {Trash the Dress}

Back when I posted the sneak peek of this session, my buddy Scott asked me, “What the heck’s a trash the dress?” Oh, men. Will you ever really know how a girl works? In the case of this Trash the Dress session, Alejandra emailed me with the story of how after having her little girl, Sofia, she was able to fit into her wedding dress again. She wanted to take pictures of herself in her dress and some with her husband, Ian. I won’t lie to you, that while I did know what a Trash the Dress session was, I had never shot one; but Alejandra’s enthusiasm oozed out of her email and I found myself saying yes. So on a wing and a prayer, Mike (who was a little confused by this concept as well) headed to Riverwalk in Ft. Lauderdale to be utterly and totally smitten by Alejandra, Ian and Sofia.

Here are my favorite pictures of the day. I found myself musing out loud how much I wished I had taken their wedding pictures back when they got married. Time travel’s not possible yet, right?

I love the juxtaposition of her princess dress with the lady walking the dog.

Fierce.

There is something about these two pictures that I just love.

I couldn’t let them leave without taking some pictures of cutie-pie Sofia.
