What’s Awesome? Footloose, that’s what.

I’m going to hit you up with back-to-back posts today to make up for my spotty posting last week during my week-of-suckiness. I hate to tempt fate, because she’s funny that way, but I really hope that I don’t have another week like that for a little bit.

Anyway, on to what’s awesome. This episode comes courtesy of my best-good-friend Scott. I tried to write up the post for this but I should just let him explain. A guest blogger, if you will:

So yeah, I have the Footloose soundtrack in my music collection. Turned it on shuffle this morning and this was the first song. So of course, I had to watch the video of the scene from Footloose. I totally forgot about everything that is right about this scene. From slamming the tape case down in the floorboard, to pounding the steering wheel, to overacting, to a shit-load of gyrating, to tight jeans, to effing* flying through the air (not to mention, multiple shots of this same part to emphasize it’s coolness)–it’s all great.

*edited for cursing. Tisk, Tisk.

**I like the foggy flashbacks, the need to take off the sweatshirt because it was just-a-little-too-hot, the way he suddenly becomes a gymnast and the fact that the premise of this movie is the simple fact that sometimes all we want to do…all we need to do is DANCE! Ask Mike, sometimes my body is just possessed by this need to dance. All around my apartment. Me, spinning like a lunatic. It relieves a ton of stress.

Here is the song in question. One that Scott linked to with the words: YOU’RE WELCOME. I am, Scott. I am. Why you are listening to Footloose, I don’t know, but I thank you.

Love, e

Scott - Best blog post ever? BEST BLOG POST EVER. Only thing better than this scene is the one at the end, when, after years of not being able to dance, everyone in the town suddenly knows all of the latest dance moves.

Yan. - Fact: The song starts playing a nanosecond after he sticks it in the tape deck.

I love Bacon.

Cousin - How does he still hear the music after running away from the car? Must be a great sound system.
