This my Abuela and the newest member of our family, Miranda (my cousin, Lila’s, first baby). There is a 90 year span in these pictures.

I look at these pictures, particularly the one of just Abuela’s hands and Miranda’s feet, and my mind boggles. I keep thinking about time and how little we have of it. I keep thinking of all that happens in a lifetime—the loves, the losses, the lessons, the rewards. I think of these things and I’m amazed at how much I waste on the things that don’t really matter. I feel so blessed that I was there to snap these pictures; at whatever gift I’ve been given to see the moment and be there to capture it. I think back to that day, the day the clocks sprang forward and we were able to soak up the sun a little longer. Sitting in the shade and playing with Miranda. Enjoying my family for the first time in weeks. Hearing my dad’s and Mike’s voices float to me from different parts of the yard. Smelling the hamburgers on the barbecue. I remember all this and simply feel blessed.
Love, e
